Oven pot roast with grilled potatoes

This oven pot it's a celebration of flavor!  A tender chuck roll cooked slowly with fresh vegetables, herbs, and a splash of red wine. With a little bit of time and patience, you can create a special dinner to remenber. 

Serves 2+

 

  3,3 lb (1,5 kilograms) of chuck roll.

  Fresh garlic.

  2 onions.

  33 Liquid ounces (1 litre) of  meat broth.

  Oregano.

  Red wine.

  1 lb  (450 grams ) of potatoes.

  1 Purple cabbage.

  Coriander

  2 Carrots

  Ground black pepper

  

SUPPLIES:

2-3 lb charcoal

High-Temperature Gloves

Keveri Cutting board

Oven proof pot ( do not use glass)

 

PREPARATION:

Step 1:

Set Up - Classic Mode (320 °F). First, start by lighting your Keveri H1 in Classic Mode at 320°F according to the manual instructions or the Masterclass video.
 

Step 2: 

Cut the carrots, onions and garlic in big pieces. Season the vegetables and the meat with salt and pepper.

Step 3: 

Set the Chuck roll in the bottom rack  position of the H1 until it's browns, and then flip it.

Step 4: 

Set the vegetables and the Chuck roll on a ovenproof pot, add some of the red wine and the meat broth. Cover the pot with foil or put the pot lid on. Set in the top rack position of your H1, leave it there for about 3 hours.

Every hour check the amount of liquid that the pot has, if you need, refill it with more wine and meat broth.

Step 5: 

After 3 hours, cut the potatoes in half and one carrot in big pieces, add them to the pot. Leave it in the H1 uncovered for about 1 more hour.

Step 6: 

Slice the purple cabbage in half and then in quarters. Season it with salt, ground black pepper and a splash of olive oil. Set in the bottom rack position of the H1 until it browns.

Step 6: 

After 4 hours, take the pot out of the H1 and leave it to rest for about 10 minutes. before serving

Cook's Notes:

Take your time to enjoy the process of cooking, don´t be affraid of  adding other vegetables to the pot, like red bell pepper.
